LeJeune Annoucnes Retirement

Dee LeJeune, President and CEO of St. Elizabeth Hospital, announced her retirement today effective July 1, 2012. LeJeune joined the hospital as a consultant to Riverview Medical Center in 1997 and was later hired as the hospital’s Chief Clinical Officer, prior to the hospital’s sale to Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. After the promotion of K. Scott Wester in 2004, LeJeune was chosen as the hospital’s President and CEO. She has served in this capacity since then.

“St. Elizabeth Hospital has far exceeded almost everyone’s expectations in the past eight years under Dee’s leadership. This is not surprising to me given her extraordinary talent of making those with whom she works feel truly valued, and her vision and commitment to creating and sustaining health services for the benefit of the community, especially those most in need,” said John Finan, Jr., President and CEO of the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System.

St. Elizabeth Hospital Board Chairman, Bill Martin, Ph.D., said, “Dee’s compassion for and commitment to the people of our community has been incredible. It has been such a pleasure to have the opportunity to work with her and to experience how this organization has flourished under her leadership.”

Sr. Kathleen Cain, Provincial of the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady, added, “We knew from the moment we chose Dee for her position as CEO at St. Elizabeth Hospital that the team members, physicians, members of the board, and members of the community would have a special bond. Indeed, such a bond was established and the results are self-evident. Dee has been an incredible asset.”
