Technology
St. Elizabeth Hospital is not the biggest hospital, but when it comes to treating patients and guests like family and providing top-notch services, we deliver. Part of providing quality care is ensuring that our equipment and technology is second to none.
St. Elizabeth Hospital maintains modern, up-to-date, and state-of-the art diagnostic equipment including CT (CAT) machines, MRI, digital x-ray, ultrasound equipment, and lab equipment.
St. Elizabeth Hospital also maintains an electronic medical record which aids our team members in improving patient safety and speeds delivery of care.
In addition, to improve care and safety for our critical care patients in the ICU, St. Elizabeth Hospital offers Mobile Virtual Critical Care or MVCC. With MVCC, patients in ICU, in addition to being cared for by our experienced nursing staff and on-site hospitalists, are remotely monitored 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, by physicians specially trained in critical care called Intensivists. The Intensivists, who work off-site at our sister facility, Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, have real-time access to patients’ medical information and vital signs. If necessary, they can see and speak to patients or on-site caregivers through equipment set up in each patient room. If a sudden change in a patient’s status occurs, the Intensivists can immediately notify our care team at St. Elizabeth Hospital to take immediate intervention.
